The New MYP Humanities

If I haven’t said it before, I’m a big fan of MYP. Content takes a backseat to concept-driven curriculum. Skill development is more important than memorizing random facts. And right now we’re going through the growing pains of a new guide, which has brought about some major changes. It’s early days yet, but I do think the changes will improve teaching and learning in my classroom. But there is a steep learning curve and a lot of work to do to make sure the changes are put into place. To help out our humanities department, I made this slideshow showing the transition to the new guide. With the disclaimer that I am just an individual teacher working through the guide, I thought I’d share that slideshow here.*  If there are other MYP Humanities teachers out there I hope this helps you out.

  1. I like that I can see some of the design cycle features within your criteria. We know it’s such a natural fit already, glad to see MYP making the connection!

I completely agree with and really like your approach to teaching Ms. Rebeka.
Would love to be a part of it.
